Karla Ederer discovered her love for the potter’s wheel and ceramics over 15 years ago as a compliment to her job as a social worker.
The diversity of clay and the infinite possibilities for decoration motivate Karla to keep making something new. She was fascinated by the turning of the wheel from the very start and the magic she feels when working with clay is still present in her current work. Creating a round form from a lump of clay with the hum of the potter’s wheel in the background is Karla’s personal meditation.
As a result Karla makes ceramics that are meant for daily life. She creates bowls, cups, mugs, plates and vases, which she then glazes in various colors with different designs.
Karla’s pottery is exclusively available at Hands Gallery.
