DATE: on request

DURATION: 4 hours

PARTICIPANTS: 2-4 people

Basic sewing skills needed, but beginners are welcome!
Suitable for adults and children age 14 or older

In this patchwork handbag sewing course you will sew a Quilt-as-You-Go patchwork bag from scraps. The bag is lined with cotton fabric, is stiffened with interfacing and has two carrying handles, which you will also sew. During the course you will learn to use a rotary cutter and ruler to cut your scraps. You will learn about the quilt-as-you-go method of making things, how the bag and lining are assembled and how to make handles.

The finished bag will measure approximately 25 x 30 cm.

This course provides you with a great opportunity to explore the world of patchwork and quilting without having to buy any equipment since everything you need is provided for you. At the end of the course you will take home a finished bag and the instructions and skills to make another.  Every bag is unique and you can choose the colors and fabrics for your bag.

Cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler will be provided for use during the course. Modern sewing machines are also available to use.

MATERIAL: Please bring 1/2 meter of cotton fabric for the lining, plus an old pair of jeans (for the base and handles) and scraps of fabric you like. If you don’t have these materials they can be provided for an additional cost of Euro 15.
