Hi–Alison of Wanderess Gear here! I design and create textile items to keep your belongings organized and look good while doing it. I make a range of products, varying from articles to keep your purse contents, travel backpack and even your yoga mat sorted. Such as: passport wallets, cosmetic bags, toiletry bags, tote bags, backpacks and yoga mat carriers. Wanderess Gear is the creative product of my love for travel, organization and design. I believe form and function go best hand in hand. I find something special about using handmade items for everyday use. There is nothing like utilizing an item made personally by an artist to bring meaning and authenticity to the day-to-day.

A little bit about me: I am an American textile artist, currently living in Munich, Germany. I grew up in Michigan, migrated to South Carolina in 2012…and have had many adventures–both to live and to travel–across the globe. It was in the Autumn of 2017 that inspiration struck and I pulled out my sewing machine which I had received as a gift from my in-laws just a few years prior. I began teaching myself to sew, alongside my mom’s mentoring. The inspiration must have been in my genes because my mom is a skilled sewist. The whirring of a sewing machine is a nostalgic sound which was often in the background of my childhood. I soon found sewing to be an incredibly meditative process and from then on, I began practicing and improving upon my skills. In April 2018, when my husband and I moved to Germany, I decided to start my own small business, centering on my passions.
